As long as you dont keep them in direct sunlight then they should be fine, i bottle some of my brews in heineken bottles and have never had a problem yet

As well as the Coopers PET(90), I use normal 1.25l PET bottles(40), 340ml Wild Turkey & Cola bottles(8 ) and 330ml Coke 'Buddy' bottles(11). They all work fine if you keep out of the sun (I refuse to buy sun block for the bottles). My new collection of Grolsch bottles(24 - some not ready yet) will also be indoors-types.

Note that almost any glass drink bottle with a screw top will take a plastic PET screw top - ie: I am yet to find one which does not.

The big issue with doing it this way is I have a very compelling reason to go the bulk prime route.

I have just conducted an experiment

put 2 grolsh bottle (stella clone ) in direct sunlight for the last two weeks

cooled one down yesterday and had it today

fine by me

will leave the other one in the sun , behind a window for another two weeks and then check again

I have been useing groslh bottles for the last 5 years and do not have a problem

have shared my beer with others and not had any negative feed back yet

Does any one know if, in aust., the 330ml and 250ml are twist or crown top? If I can cap them, maybe a mixture of sizes would make a nice set for a brew?

I believe the Grolsch are crown but not 100% sure. That said I don't think I have ever seen a twist top 330ml bottle...
