I am just wondering if anybody knows where i can buy Coopers Pale Ale bottles in Melbourne or Geelong.
Full of course.

Just going on past experience even though I am from sydney, try and look for a more independant type bottle, rather than the large type. I had more success with pub bottle shops.

Cloudwine Cellars
Purvis Wine Cellars
Australian Cleanskin Group

these guys sell Redoak in Melbourne so I would assume they sell more unique beer - give 'em a try.

cheers,

I'm in Brisbane, the BWS chain carrys the Stout, Pale and sparkling in stubbies and long necks. I don't know if its store specific or the mandatory list of stuff to sell though. Hope that helps.

Choco,

Welcome (unless you're that dodgy bloke who coaches that even dodgier footy team, Port "Power". For more on that see http://users.pipeline.com.au/obw/ ).

Anyway, Coopers is generally available in most bottleshops these days, unlike when I move to Victoria 12 years ago.

You shouldn't have much trouble at all tracking down some Pale Ale, and chances are the bottleshop will have Sparkling Ale and Best Extra Stout in longnecks as well.

Cheers,

Oliver

G'day all

Sorry to disappoint you Oliver but i'm not that Choco, that link was pretty funny though.
I managed to find CPA bottles at The Quiet Man in Flemington, but there must be a cheaper place to get them. Tried a BWS in Geelong but they didn't have them and Dan Murphys didn't stock them either.

Thanks for helping me.

Choco,

I can't tell you how happy I am that you're not THAT Choco :D

Geoff lives in Jan Juc, so I've put out the call to him about a bottleshop in Geelong that stocks Pale Ale longnecks.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,

Oliver

Hey Choco,

I've found them at the bottleshop attached to the Foodworks supermarket in Torquay. I was extremely happy with (a) the bottle and (b) the contents but I was none too pleased with the price.

Happy beer hunting,

Geoff

I forgot to mention that The Q.M. charge $5 a bottle, there must be somewhere they are cheaper.
Geoff, what did you pay at the bottleshop?

I really can't remember, Choco, but I think it was the single bottle price x 12. Ouch!

Choco,

$5 a longneck is about the going rate. You should be able to pick up a case of 12 longnecks for around $45. For the equivalent of a slab, this is OK. Plus you get the beaut crown seal bottles to put homebrew in

Dags,

Good to see another Port "Power" hater on board.

Cheers,

Oliver
