barrelboy wrote:Just finished Earle's Black Sheep clone. Good gas on opening and fruity aroma. Poured well with lovely amber head and beer colouring. Sweetish to the taste, fruity yet with a very plesant hop bite. Excellent drop, would love to have with a proper oven cooked pizza. Top drop Earle, I could drink quite a few of these. ( lazing in a hammock on a hot day with an esky full.) Is the recipe in a thread somewhere? :D
Cheers BB Ps saw tour of the brewery on the Two Fat Ladies cooking show

Glad you enjoyed it. Brewed it in June last year so its had a bit of time to mature. I made it with the Dry English Ale yeast from craftbrewer which is a mix of Windsor which gives you nice fruity esters and US05 for a fuller fermentation.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

I think there is more sticky tape holding it together rather than cardboard! ;-)

Boy, do the members produce top drops. Just finished Marty's Amber Ale. Good gas on opening, poured well with lovely tight head. Excellent head retention and lacing. What a fruity/citrus-y aroma and taste. Marty this is a great ale, complex lovely flavours, smooth as silk. :D
Cheers BB
Ps will try stout later on.

Barls Trois Pistoles (Belgium strong ale) has been enjoyably consumed. Plenty of gas on opening and although the head disappears fairly quickly (common for style I think) a light behind the rose/ruby coloured ale shows good strong gas activity. The ale has complex flavours ( for me anyway, as I don't know a lot about the style), a strong fruity after taste, a lot going on with a hint of apple perhaps. I.like this drop, couldn't drink heaps but suggest its not meant to be a session brew.
A refreshing drop Barls and bottled well.
Cheers BB
Ps. I'm getting weak in the hands, had to get vice grips to get the cork out. :D

It's been pretty quiet on the BB tasting front? Anyone else think he might be suffering from liver damage from too many beers?

Tasting will start again this week. Have had a bit of a cold and want to give these fine drops justice. If it wasn't for the last 12 percenter I might have had far worse!

Who needs to go to a boutique bar, or browse Dan Murphy's, just win this lotto!!!!
Marty's Sunbury Best Extra Stout bottled on 25/2/12 is a "bottler" ( excuse the pun ).
I drank this fine drop at about 10 degrees, and yes heater on. Deliciously smooth with a soft pleasant "stout" taste with nice bite. Nice lacing with good carbonation. I had a tasty cheese after this, more stout please.

Well done, Cheers BB

Not a problem Milliner1986, when you can.

Just devoured Aydan's refreshing Stone & Wood clone bottled 2/4/12. Absolutely lovely aroma, passionfruit blossom? Just so sweet yet with a citrus tang. Another wonderful drop, crisp clean taste, so fruity/ hop flavoured. One stubbie is not enough, slab please.

Tipsy's all grain Munich Helles has just passed through my lips. Good gas on opening and a pleasant sweet flora aroma to this brew. Strong floral/ hop taste that is not unpleasant but rather crisp and dry. Good every day drink, a goody for summer, on second thoughts, any time. Thanks Tipsy
and for the full brew notes.
Cheers BB
