My bets on the Tigers, beating the Saint George Dragons. Then onto the 2010 premiership.
Should be worth a few Coopers Real Ales.

Drinking my first lager attempt (Coopers Heritage), been in the bottle 11weeks. I tried a couple last night and decided they were the right drink for Saturday.
Will take along a few samplers for others to try, apple cider was a hit with friends WAGS last grand final.

Yep, the Wests Tigers are the old Magpies. They merged with Balmain many years ago for the NRL.
This is how I still go for the Magpies. They still have the minor grades that remain seperated.

Bottled 11 weeks? Whats the earliest that you drink them?
The Dark I will start to allow to mature, and I will drink some Real beginning tonight. They've been bottled for two weeks now.

I don't have any other beer than these and the Bitter in the racking bin.
Do I actually have to buy some???

Most home brews will benefit from some time in the bottle but that means you need to build up some stock. I reckon you could start drinking yours after two weeks but keep a few for longer to see how the flavour develops. I'm usually keen to sample a new brew and sneak one after just a week but the majority get left longer.

There are exceptions to the rule, concensus is that wheat beers are best drunk fresh as a lot of the character comes from the yeast. I have a weizen that I will be bottling this weekend which should be good to go the next weekend.

Sonny, dont really follow the NRL down here, even during the Storm premiership years (sorry year now) I didn't have much interest.

Most of my beers are kept for 3 weeks prior to drinking, although like Earle I do have a sample stubbie at about 1 week. General consensus on this site and others, is that lagers improve with 3 months in the bottle. Even the Coopers instructions recommend 12 weeks.

Not sure how I feel about this revealation Bullfrog. Normally I agree with the sentiments expressed in both yours and Bum's posts. Being opposed to you, puts me in the company of .

Not much of an AFL fan, but the draw result what..a...joke!

League = my sport and happy that the roosters got up and not so happy they will be meeting the dragons at the grand final.

Beers to accompany GF... depends where i am, which will most probally be out and about somewhere so hopefully they have tooheys old on tap

Joke indeed. Heard on the radio that the rule has already been changed so AFL now has over-time though, so anybody who was banking on a Grand Final Round 3 may be a bit disappointed.

I will be drinking my slowly maturing Dark ale, the ever getting better Real ale and I will probably try my one week old 300ml sampler of the English Bitter. I told you I can't wait.
Also, I'm picking up 79 crown tops I won on EBay, so that when I do go to kegs I will surely have some bottles to part with.

I'm FOR the draw, and replay. Really, how often does it happen. History can decide if it's good or not, Pies losing mean it's a good idea. Drink of choice for GF 2, Docs Golden Ale, I think I need a run of these to see them reach maturity.
Will be watching GF 2 @ a mad Saints supporters house.
