Good news

Postby wrighty » Thursday Jan 22, 2009 1:16 pm

A.B.B grain press release today indicates this years malting barley crop has produced an exportable surplus.

Pool 1sales of 325 -335 $ per ton closed 31 dec.

Pool 2 sales of 215 -225 $ per ton.

Global price has fallen markedly in recent weeks with excess crops in many countries including canada.

Good news for brewers not so good for farmers.

Not good news for brewers or farmers, good news for malters...
Prost and happy brewing!

That's funny, I was having a beer with Uncle Vic this Xmas just gone (he runs the family wheat, barley, canola farm in Warracknabeal) and he muttered that this was a poor year..?
