James Squire Pepperberry Winter Ale

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

I looked and looked, but never could find this on sale. Same story as the Rum Rebellion Porter last year, every store I went to wanted it, but no one knew who had it.

Dan Murphys and First Choice both have it.

Just become friendly with your local independant and you'll be set. I asked mine to order in some for me. I quite enjoyed it. I'll probably go back down and buy the rest of them.

I had checked with my local Dan's and they said they likely wouldn't be getting it in. So as I was doing a resupply at Dan's last week I grabbed me a carton of JS Pils and as I turned to leave I spotted a carton and a few 6ers of the Pepperberry just sitting on the ground there.

Always keep your eyes open and you never know what you might run into.

Grabbed a 6 pack of this over the weekend, not a huge fan. I think the pepperberry was a bit overdone, I didn't mind the first half of the bottle but towards the end it got a bit much. The other half enjoyed it, so I guess i'll give it 5/10

It goes really well with steak, or with a meat pie.

Matching beer with the right food is the way to go.

Hi lads,
gave one a try and thought it was very palatable. Well worth knocking the top off! Pepperberry can be bought via the "outback cafe" website. Same dude that cooks indigenous tucker on a show by the same name on FOX. http://www.theoutbackcafe.com/?id=1

Wattleseed Stout anyone? Or perhaps a Lemon Myrtle Cerveza?

Bought a 6 pack of this on Friday.

Not sure what i am going to do with the other 5.... :(

Then again, it was up against a few other nice commercials at a brewing get together (wicked Elf pale and wit) and a few very nice HBs (a very nice FES, a glorious IPA and a very well made trippel - none of which were mine).

Pepperberry is a native spice that you should be able to find anywhere you buy other native spices - lemon myrtle, bush tomatoes etc.

In Adelaide your best bet is the Central Market.
