Hahn White

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Hahn White

I had a sneaky pre tasting of Hahn White recently- the latest offering from Swan, supposedly a cloudy wheat.

Well I gotta say it was possibly one of the worst beers I have ever tried.

Actually tasted and smelt of polony- the garlic fritz variety

Needless to say the Weistephaner will be staying put in the pub where I work!

Nice try Swan!- just remember it's not all marketing.

Hmmm. Maybe Lion Nathan just recycled the recipe for Southwark White http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/southwark-white/1501/

Looks like that beer is now defunct. Which perhaps is not surprising if it's the same recipe as the new Hahn White :D

Cheers,

Whatever happened to the Hahn Witbier?

I seem to recall it being fairly nice, but admittedly that was in the days when I used to drink Carlton Cold.....

Got to try the "real" version off the tap yesterday.

It's Low carb (marketing ploy) and supposed to be served with a slice of orange in it.

The rep really had no idea what he was talking about saying it's aimed at getting women back to drinking beer.

and how Hoegarden is really heavy and how he could only drink one or two before feeling bloated.

Where do they get these goats from??

it is kinda disturbing when the marketing department invent new beers based on their delusions of what people want, unfornuately they often get it right after all dumb people who listen to commercial radio and watch commercial telly are very easily lead like a pack of sheep.
Hitler once said 'what fortune for government men don't think' same goes for beer companies.
