I might get blasted from Wassa if he reads this, but Coopers Dark Ale is the best dark ale in the country. Would be my favourite commerical beer, pity about the limited availability of the product in Sydney.

Nice and smooth alright. I think DM stocks it in Sydney.

They did last time I was there (from memory). It's worth a look. At least if it isn't there, there are lots of other good beers to try!

Back in the day before it was in bottles, Flinders Uni Tavern used to have it on tap... many lecutures missed because of one too many pints of dark ale at lunch

I LOVE Cooper's Dark Ale! Used to have it regular when I lived in Tamworth for the Albert Hotel had it on tap right next to Tooheys Old.
Never have found bottles of it anywhere outside of Adelaide though. :( I've bugged the local 1st Choice store about getting it as they get the Cooper's Mild (which I mistakenly bought a six of once due to its similar-coloured label), but to no avail. I was considering paying the shipping for a carton through the Beer Store.....

I was able to get a case of Coopers Dark Ale through Liquorland.

A favourite of mine.

The Coopers homebrew Dark Ale is the closest to any commercial product that you can brew from a can.

Good quality drop.

I have a couple Liquorland stores right close, and the one down a few blocks does get some different stuff, like Leffe Bruine, so I may ask if they could get some Cooper's Dark.
I see the Cooper's Dark cans in Cole's & was thinking of giving that a try after we move to a house with a bit of room.

Update: I got some Cooper's Dark from Dan Murphy's Springwood! w00t! :D

This stuff is good, a favourite of mine, very nice on tap when in the Adelaide hills on a cold winter day!

I have managed to find it in bottles in a few places in Victoria, one of my local supermarkets used to stock it but since I have been trying a few other beers I can't say I have seen it on the shelf. Although I'm not an expert, I imagine any supermarket that stocks any of the other coopers range should be able to order in a slab or two on request?

When I do that here in Brisbane usually I'm told they won't sell enough to make it worth their while.
That said, it looks like there is no shortage of it at the aforementioned Dan's. :)
