I have no idea of their value, but will make my guess at $25
How much do you think they'll go for?

Red,
They went for $9.99, with only one bid made.
How do I know? Because I bought them!

For all that some people obsess over them, there are still plenty out there, and they seem to multiply- http://cgi.ebay.com.au/60-Home-Brew-Bottles-750ml-Crown-Seals-King-Browns_W0QQitemZ6200809589QQcategoryZ563QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

For curiosity value, you can't really go past this-
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Beer-Steins-300plus-bulk-lot_W0QQitemZ7346896246QQcategoryZ2203QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

which oddly enough has had no bids at all after 10 days.

Anyone with a young daughter shoudl think about these- http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MINIATURE-BEER-WINE-FOOD-FOR-DOLLHOUSE_W0QQitemZ5611927282QQcategoryZ2459QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem although personally I think there is something a bit wrong with Barbie-sized bottles of wine & beer

That's a lot of Bundaberg- http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Bundaberg-Rum-Bottles-Excellent-for-Home-Brew_W0QQitemZ4405348700QQcategoryZ20690QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Assume the previous owner has gone off somewhere to dry out following his liver transplant.

I'm not sure that they'd be "excellent for homebrew", as described. I don't think Bundy bottles were designed to, or would, hold pressure that well.

But you're right, that's a hell of a lot of Bundy.

if you read on the seller seems to think that there are people out there who make home brewed rum on a fairly major scale

Actually, I put a bid on that item... I'm desperately short of bottles and I put a bid in without really reading carefully. It wasn't till afterwards that I read that many of the bottles are clear glass and many of them are mouldy. Glad I got snaked on the bid 8)

The moral of the story is to always read very carefully :)

Tyberious,

If you want free mould, just wander down to your local bowls club and ask to pick through their bottle bin - they're usually more than happy to oblige you.

Ironically, I live next door to a bowls club/RSL. Every morning I hear someone tipping crates of empties into their recycling bin. But I can never seem to catch them in time before they retreat back inside and lock up. By the time the place opens (at least, on the weekend when I'm at home), there are usually only casual staff working the bar and most of them aren't very helpful. I could probably just go poking around the bins without asking, but it doesn't feel "right". One weekend I'm gonna camp outside their back dock, waiting...
