What sort of quanitites are you talking?

I'm sure your homebrew shop would be willing to sell you a 20kg bag (or whatever they come in).

I just had a look at http://www.grainandgrape.com.au/ingredients.htm

They sell 6kg of dextrose for $18.70 and 25kg for $60.00.

Considering a 1kg bag is $3.85, buying in 25kg lots is a saving of $36.25 over buying in kilo lots, and almost $18 cheaper than buying in 6kg lots.

Cheers,

Oliver

In Perth:

The guy at International Homebrew Supplies on Beechboro Rd has offered me a 25kg bag for $36. Only a verbal offer whilst I was enquiring about purchasing bulk myself, and I haven't gone and bought one yet, but seems like a pretty good price compared to the posts above - $1.44 kg.

If you're not in Perth, I'm sorry, I can't be of any help.

Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with the mob mentioned above, they're just close to my home.

Hey Hornet, have you noticed that since Neil took over IHS that the service has got so much better!!!

On a side note where are you then, I'm just around corner from him in Bassendean so we must be close?

Didn't even know his name was Neil. :-)

I didn't have a lot to do with the previous proprietor, but Neil seems like a pretty genuine, nice bloke. From a brief chat with him the previous owner didn't really care about the retail side of the business, but Neil wants to promote it pretty heavily.

He has even set the standard price of his Coopers' Kits to $9.90 (If my frail memory serves me) to compete with the supermarket prices.

For what it's worth, He currently gets all my homebrew business.

As for location, I'm in Embleton, so about 500m from him. Very convenient.

Cheers

Browen hornet, I was there only on wednesday and yes the standard coops range he is selling at "supermarket prices" as he put it. He does seem very helpfull and i agree that he is really trying to push the retail side from the breif chat i had to him. He has apparently only owned the bussiness for 12 weeks.
