does any one have a simple formula to work out how to increase or decrease weight measurments in recipies.
e.g. If I had a recipie for a brew that was for 19ltrs and wanted to increase the volume to 25ltrs at what ratio would I increase my grains, malt, hops ect.

Divide the ingredient amount by the original volume, and multiply the answer by the new volume.

EG:

3kg of malt in a 19L brew, what for a 30L brew?

3/19 = 0.158

0.158 * 30 = 4.74

4.74kg of malt for a 30L brew.

If you have a program like Beersmith, simply enter the recipe as you find it.
Then get the program to do the maths for you. Too easy.

The $20 I spent buying Beersmith was one of the best investments in a brewing tool I've made.
