Partial help

Thinking of giving partial brewing a go.
Don't want to spend too much extra cash and buy larger pot to do an all grain (have a 15Litre pot), but after reading a couple of things doesn't seem as hard as i thought to do a partial.
If anyone has simple instructions from start to finish (including the basic equipment required) i would greatly appreciate it!
And maybe a first recipe to try.

Go for it guys. It makes a world of difference.
I'm using a 15 Litre pot as well and for a partial don't need much more equipment than a pot, sieve, normal kit brew gear, good quality cooking thermometer.
When you do a search check out the links to the web pages as well.
Some of the guys here have documented the process well....

Frankly Yardy you are an idiot! But thanks for the link! Funny how you acted like a child while argueing against this list being a childminder.

Point to a link - if you want, or use your obviously high intellegence to come up with some better instructions for us plebs - if you want, or just ignore the message - if you want. But i am not on this list to play egos.

Obviously finding the info first is better, but the search i did did not locate what i was after. Sparrows link to a web site was handy however. Maybe i wasn't patient enough in my search, But i do find the search facility pretty ordinary.

And regardless who cares. You should be able to live with the repeat discussions, from my experience there are many because this list is very handy for people new to brewing or wanting to keep learning.

What kind of sieve do you use silky?...is it just one of those close-wired strainers or is there something better to use to get all the husks etc out?

I dont think there is anything wrong with asking a simple question.

Especially since the search mostly finds partial recipes, not process instructions.

Two concrete questions:

1. How do people crush grain? When using 250-500gms of specialty i have just been banging with a meat tenderizer, but obviously not going to work well with 2000gms plus. Crushes seem very expensive.
2. Is the grain bag (steeping) option very efficient for mashing? or is it way better (and worth the $) to get a proper mashing system going straight off.
