almost ready to go with my first AG 8) still need a hlt? have a 50L keg yet to be modified. would a big esky full of water at the right temp work if i just scoop out the right volume with a measuring jug? would need some sort of a way to measure water levels in my keg once its up and running :) cheers to better beer :lol:

A yep from me as well. I'd just make the water much hotter than you are actually aiming for because it will drop. Maybe 10C? For measuring volume, some make a sight glass, but I just use a simple notched copper dip-stick in the kettle (have a look about 3/4 the way down this link and click on the pic for a larger view http://edsbrewery.blogspot.com/ ) A little more difficult to get exact for a keg HLT, but I think simple enough.
