What size were the bottles, if they were the standard 750ml bottles then you should have used 2 drops per bottle.

You guys should go for it, like most have said you're not a charity and should get something in return for everything you've put in to it.

But only if the advertiser places no restrictions on what people have say (especially if someone wants to say that their product is crap).

I got a couple of double door pantry kits from my local major hardware store (along with an extra shelf for each pantry). Each shelf holds the bottles nicely from one brew and having ten shelves seems to work out quite nicely in that just as we finish one batch of bottles there's another lot ready ...

The recipe given to me by local HBS (Malthouse HBS) goes like this:-

ESB Malthouse bitter
Light Malt 500g
Dextrose 250g
Corn Syrup 250g
Hallertau finishing hops
Saaz finishing hops
Saflager S23 yeast

I've made it up a couple of times both myself and Mrs GW (the main beer drinker) both enjoy it

Long time bubbling (help please)

I've had a brew on for 2 weeks (using saflager S-23 yeast), it's been bubbling away now the whole time. The SG has been 1006 for three days straight, should I still wait for the bubbling to stop or risk making a batch of hand grenades.

Thanks in advance

I just soak my bottles in water for at least 24 hours. Most of the labels come off with no trouble and those that don't come off no troubles with a light rub with a metal scourer (this also seems to remove the left over sticky stuff as well)

I use one that's very similar and I've found it to be great. A little bit of water and a shake around as soon as you've finished drinking the bottle makes the yeast budge rather easy as well

I use Home Brew Supplies in Welshpool. They are really helpful to someone that is new to the homebrewing caper like myself and have a great choice.

If you're interested Malthouse Homebrew Supplies (on Welshpool rd) has glass bottles for sale (crown seal type). They are 650ml and are sold in boxes of 28 for $28.

Thanks for that Auscol, I wasn't too sure if it was safe to re-use them as the bottom seal part breaks off and remains with the bottle.

Just wondering if someone could tell me if I can re-use the caps that come with the PET bottles or if I have to buy new ones each brew.

Cheers
