Re: Coopers Pale Ale
Why anyone would go for a slab of carlton or VB when you can spend maybe $5 more and buy a case of this I don't know....
Tis a fine drop to be sure, and it's good to know that its appreciated.

Re: La Fin du Monde
Unfortunaley Unibroue stopped exporting to australia late last year, so you'd be lucky to find any, as its pretty popular. The only places that will still have it would be small boutique bottle shops, but if you do find some, don't worry about the best before date or anything, as long as its been ...

Re: Help needed with AG ginger beer
I'm in the planning stages for my first attempt of a non-kit GB, definitely some food for thought in this thread.
At this point I'm thinking:
2.5 kg LDME
1.5 kg Ginger, peeled and minced.
Juice of 5 Lemons (too much?)
Zest of 1 lemon
Boil it all for 1 hr, ferment with Safale US-05? Can't remember ...

Re: Grand Ridge Brewery Moonlight nut brown ale
I did with the moonlight, but only after I'd kept it for a few months. Dunno what's up with it, but I still reckon its a good drop if one is planning on driving home. Not much else out there in the way of good lights.

Re: Kitchen Sink Stout
Haha I made a stout called the Kitchen Sink Stout, but it was named thus due to me tipping half the mini-mash liquid down the sink.
good luck though, if you do go with the molasses I'd be interested to see how it turns out, though I fear the doc may be correct.

Re: Carbonating in cold weather.
thats a bloody good idea to wrighty, might have to look into it myself. even a old chest freezer would work, lay the blanket on the top and rig up a thermostat. could probably fit three or four brews in at once.

Carbonating in cold weather.
I've recently bottled a couple of brews, and they've been in the bottle for two weeks now. I opened one, just a stubby, last night, and it was definitely not carbonated, which i can only put down to the very low temperature that is the norm in my house. just curious as to how everyone gets their ...

Mate of mine picked up a sixer and was kind enough to swap one for a coopers best extra. i think he may have gotten the better side of the deal though....
aroma was nice, but nothing much was happening once it got to the mouth.
That said, kudos to them for continuing to try new things. Here's to ...

Re: Temp too low? Safale s-04
see if you can get a submersible heater, i've found they work better than the other options, i have two myself, keeping a stout and a wheat beer warm as we speak. the retail at $50 dollars at some places, it's worth shopping around, my first one was $80....
