I didn't think this day would come, but i'm selling my brewing kit as I simply don't use it anymore. Up for grabs is:

30L white plastic fermenter (bought from grain & grape if you have seen them)

hi. im just looking for an easy recipe for ginger beer. i have the coopers ginger beer kit. what should i add apart from the sugar?

howdy. been a while since i've been on here!

i've done a search but can't find a good link to a ginger beer recipe? keen to do one to accompany some nice rum over summer!

yep. i've been in there 3 times. it's great. food is good, well priced, and the beer is as fresh as it is in fremantle. beautiful!

update to this recipe that i have been tweaking over the last few months.

i've now got it to:

coopers pale or sparkling ale kit
1kg LDME
250g JW crystal
20g amarillo
20g cascade
safale 05

have now started to only use 20g of both hops and only add them to the boil for 5min. (as advisd by chris at ...

i got it at grain and grape melbourne. i just asked for amber grain - i'm not sure of the exact name/terminology. gee it smelt good though at steep...

ah ok... nice one. this isnt bitter at all... it's only slightly more bitter than a coopers pale ale from the bottle.

next time i might experiment with hopping it later in the boil.

hey all. i just thought i'd share my latest brew - as it's turned ot the best ever that ive made (brew number 15).

coopers pale ale kit
1kg LDME
200g amber crystal
40g amarillo
40g cascade
safale 56

steeped the crystal for 30min at 70C.
in the meantime brought 3l. water to the boil, in with the ...

stockings are definately dyed. trust me - i had a batch turn black from not pre=boling a pair. the ones to get are the natural/tan colour, they're nt treated (according to the missus).

UPDATE::

this has really come into its own... the bitterness has subsided and it's REALLY close to the hightail. has the same smokey/dry after taste. really drinkable and getting good reviews by my select panel of peer group testers.

just had a taste of this tonight. it's quite bitter. has upfront aroma similar to the hightail, but then finishes quite dry and bitter.

its only just been 2 weeks i guess. probably a bit green still!
